Manufacturing Operations System
Custom software connecting retail and distributor orders, pricing, factory stations and shipping preparation.
A custom manufacturing operations system for a business that makes its own products and sells through retail stores and wholesale distributors. It connects order entry, custom pricing, a shared CRM, production routing, iPad station work and shipping preparation. Retail staff, warehouse teams, foremen and station operators work from the same order record.
Orders moved through paper printouts, sticky notes and disconnected software. Staff had to manually trace an order, work out what each station needed and coordinate the next step. The manufacturer wanted to reduce that administrative work and make orders easier to follow from sale to shipment, without forcing its custom production process into an expensive generic system.
After on-site discovery with retail and factory teams, I built a working end-to-end prototype in 30 days. Approved orders become production tasks with the parts and measurements each station needs. Workers log in on an iPad, complete the physical work and mark it done; the system releases downstream tasks when their required parts are ready. Parallel production tracks come together for assembly and quality checks. Custom requests can be routed by staff, and packing checklists, labels and PDF paperwork support the shipping handoff. The workflow gives teams a shared view of progress and reduces the need to chase paper between stations.
